OUR STORY

WUKIT began
by listening.

Listening to the people trying to get work done. Listening to the people ready to do it. And listening to the distance between them.

WHY WUKIT EXISTS

Jamaica has talent.
What was missing was a better connection.

01

For homeowners and families overseas

Homeowners simply wanted to get work done. And get it done right. Jamaicans overseas were trying to repair, renovate, or care for a home back home, sometimes sending hard-earned money thousands of miles away and still wondering who they could trust.

Too much depended on a phone number passed from one person to another, a social media post, a WhatsApp message, or just taking somebody’s word for it. There were limited ways to compare quotes, review previous work, verify information, or maintain proper project records.

02

For skilled contractors

Skilled contractors knew their craft and showed up ready to work, but finding consistent, serious opportunities could still be difficult. A talented tradesperson could spend years mastering their craft and still depend on unpredictable referrals and poor-quality leads for the next job.

Building a professional reputation, displaying previous work, and finding serious clients remained harder than it needed to be.

An independent contractor uses WUKIT to discover a residential opportunity, access the lead, and connect with a client.
THE IDEA
What if we brought the pieces together and built something for the way work actually happens in Jamaica?
That question becameWUKIT.
THE WUKIT PERSPECTIVE

The moment the search starts to feel possible.

A useful connection can turn uncertainty into a clearer next step. The people, their skills and the decisions they make remain at the heart of the experience.

PEOPLE. SKILLS. A WAY FORWARD.
MORE THAN A DIRECTORY

A connected idea for how work can move forward.

Seymour used different platforms and tools to solve different pieces of the problem. Eventually, a bigger idea emerged. The vision for WUKIT grew beyond finding somebody for a job.

It became a connected ecosystem where clients can discover professionals, review profiles and previous work, request services, receive structured quotes, communicate, and maintain better project records. And where contractors can build a professional presence, find opportunities, quote work, communicate with clients, document projects, strengthen their reputations, and use technology to help grow a real business.

BUILT FOR JAMAICA

Not simply tech in Jamaica.
Tech for Jamaica.

Technology that understands our communities, contractors, homeowners, diaspora, and the way business actually gets done here. When technology helps a Jamaican contractor find more work, build a stronger business, or employ another person, its impact does not end with an app. It can support a household, move through a community, and create another opportunity.

And when a Jamaican living overseas can connect more confidently with professionals back home, technology can shorten a distance that once felt much greater.

THE WORK BEHIND THE WORK

WUKIT was not created overnight.

Behind what people see today are countless decisions, changes, setbacks, late nights, financial sacrifices, rebuilding, testing, learning, and starting again when something was not good enough.

There were easier moments to stop. But the belief behind WUKIT kept pushing the project forward: this problem is worth solving. Not because technology by itself changes people’s lives, but because of what people can do when the right technology gives them a better opportunity.

THE FUTURE

Built from experience.
Built by listening.
Built for Jamaica.

WUKIT carries the experience of the contractor looking for the next opportunity, the homeowner looking for someone they can trust, and the Jamaican overseas trying to take care of something back home. It carries the belief that Jamaica should not only consume the next generation of technology. We can build it too.

Somewhere across Jamaica, somebody has the skill to do the work, while somebody else is searching for exactly that skill. WUKIT exists to help them find each other, at home and overseas, from opportunity to accomplishment.

This is our story. And we’re just getting started.
