SMART SECURITY

Thoughtful protection starts with a plan.

Plan cameras, access controls and alarms around entrances, shared spaces and everyday routines. DSA reviews the property before recommending equipment.

WHAT GOES INTO A SOLUTION

Visibility, access and awareness.

For homes, shops, offices, hospitality properties and multi-unit developments reviewing visibility, access and security-device needs.

Cameras & video doorbells

Match viewing angles, lighting and recording needs to entrances, driveways and shared areas.

Locks & access control

Consider doors, gates, user permissions and practical entry arrangements for residents, staff or visitors.

Alarms & connected security

Review appropriate sensors, alerts, power and connectivity as part of a coordinated system.

Property security planning

Look at blind spots, perimeter coverage, privacy and how the equipment will be used day to day.

ASSESSMENT BEFORE EQUIPMENT

Good placement is a design decision.

Coverage & lighting
Review entrances, driveways, blind spots and the difference between daytime and night-time conditions.
Access & privacy
Identify who needs access while respecting private spaces and neighbouring properties.
Network & recording
Discuss connectivity, recording location, storage requirements and who can view information.
Power & existing devices
Review equipment condition, cabling routes, power availability and suitable integration.
THE CONNECTIONS, SIMPLIFIED

From the property to a clearer picture.

  1. Areas to cover

    Entrances, gates and shared spaces

  2. Devices

    Cameras, sensors and entry controls

  3. Connection & control

    Network, recording and permissions

  4. Awareness & access

    Supported alerts and user controls

Features vary by device and service configuration. Alerts are not a promise of professional monitoring, emergency response or incident prevention.

FIND YOUR STARTING POINT

Start with the spaces that need attention.

Explore the possibilities first. The assessment establishes what is suitable, and the quotation sets out the proposed scope.

A home entrance

A doorbell, suitable lock or entrance camera may be a useful starting point after the layout is reviewed.

A wider property

Consider gates, driveways and shared spaces together, with a sensible coverage and access plan.

A business or shared site

Plan staff and visitor access, recording responsibilities and everyday system management.

Security technology supports awareness and access management. It cannot guarantee incident prevention, and professional 24/7 monitoring is not included.

BEYOND INSTALLATION

Understand it. Use it. Care for it.

Plan account ownership, permission changes, software updates and equipment checks. Handover should help the intended users understand access, alerts and recording settings.

Think about the connections.

Compatible lighting, network improvements and suitable backup power can be considered alongside security equipment. Each integration needs a specific review.

BEFORE OUR FIRST CONVERSATION

Bring the useful details.

Describe the areas you want to cover, who needs access and what equipment is already in place. A site review can establish placement and installation requirements.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you begin.

Can I use my existing cameras or locks?

Share the device names and any known model details. Compatibility and condition need to be reviewed before an integration is proposed.

Is 24/7 monitoring included?

No. Professional 24/7 monitoring is not included. Any monitoring arrangement would need to be separately discussed and agreed.

What should I consider about camera placement?

Identify the areas that need visibility while respecting neighbouring and private spaces. The assessment reviews suitable camera positions.

Where will recordings be kept?

Local or supported remote storage depends on the equipment selected. Capacity, access permissions, retention and any ongoing service costs should be agreed before installation.

Will security devices work without internet?

Local recording, remote access and alerts behave differently across systems. Connectivity and backup behaviour need to be considered during design.
